Looking At Auto Dealerships in Asheville

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

I love cars, who doesn’t? Our old Toyota 4 runner and Mazda  are getting old, so I though I’d peruse some of the local Asheville and surrounding dealerships.

My favorites? The Honda S200 and the BMW Z4 look amazing. Much safer than the Mazda but still pretty small. Both come in convertable models. Why do I like convertibles? Well, there is nothing like driving down the blue ridge parkway in western nc with the top down. The benefit to the Honda is that it can use a hardtop and a canvas. I prefer hardtop for theft reasons, but its nice to be able to use both. It can also ref up to 9,000 horse power? Are you kidding me? Yeah, its pretty much a racer engine in a little Honda. The Blue Ridge Parkway also has some hairpin turns which is why the BMW is nice. I’ve heard it handles turns better than most cars its size. Some other all wheel drive cars are also i my options as winter can be rough in Asheville and WNC. Hondas are so light they would just skidd everywhere in the ice and snow.

As far as SUVs or trucks… The new Ford Edge and Escape look great. Fuel economy is at the top, which is good if you are out in the mountains on a dirt road, or coming back from school to Asheville.

Well, hope everyone had a great New Year! I did, although I can’t believe the first song I heard on 2012 was LAMFO. Gotta say, that pissed me off a bit.

Southwestern Community College Picks Back Up

Friday, December 30th, 2011

Its not quite New Years yet, but when that comes around… College reopens on Jan. 3… We really only have one day left (Monday) that we wouldn’t normally have off. I guess its time to make the most of it!

Breaks in Western North Carolina are fun, because there is so much stuff to do. I went over to Maggie Valley and went Skiing at Cataloochie (honestly, no idea how to spell it, and I know for sure that is the wrong way).

Then, I went out and test drove some cars… Yeah, you can do this anywhere, not just in the mountains, but we sure do have some nice dealerships, especially in Asheville NC. Asheville has tons of Name Brand dealerships plus a bunch of regular old dealerships.

On New Years, I’m going to go see an old Mountain Tradition (Southwestern Community College served me well) and watch the possum drop! Yeah, basically they catch a possum and drop it instead of a ball. No, its not redneck. Its Tradition :D . (Its extremely redneck). But, where’s the fun in watching a ball drop when you can watch a screaming possum getting lowered in a cage!? Next year, I’m going to try to get my extended family to come watch. Its something that WNC has done… and they shouldn’t have to miss out on it.

Welcome to my blog and to NC, well, Western North Carolina in particular.

This blog will be covering interesting information about Asheville, Waynesville, Clyde, and Sylva which are all in my neck of the woods.

Please leave comments and add to the discussion.

Also, if you ever have any requests, I will be happy to take them. If anyone would like their article published on this blog, just let me know.
