2010-04-01: Jack Hinson – “Laughter Was God’s Idea”

April 1st, 2010 by Scott Baker

The Reverend Jack Hinson spoke to the Sylva Rotary Club about his new book, “Laughter Was God’s Idea.” As the chaplain for Harris Regional Hospital for 14 years, Hinson promoted humor’s power of healing with all of the patients he visited.  Pictured with Hinson (top, left) is Sylva Rotary Club President, Tom Schutte. Matt Nicholson was honored as Student of the Month.  Nicholson has a 3.65 GPA at Smoky Mountain High, where he has been a three-year starter for the Mustang baseball team.  Nicholson and other members of the baseball team died their hair blonde as a symbol of their solidarity and commitment to a winning season this year.  Pictured with Nicholson ( middle, left) is Sylva Rotary member, Amy Grimes McClure.  New member Ben “Uncle Bill” Seay (bottom, 2nd from left) was inducted into the club. His sponsor is Ruddy Kaye. Welcome Uncle Bill to the club!
