Ruth McConnell, a leader with the Jackson Neighbors in Need project, was the featured speaker at a recent lunchtime meeting of the Sylva Rotary Club.  Jackson Neighbors in Need is an all-voluntary group that brings together churches, community organizations and individuals to assist Jackson County residents who are in need of adequate warm shelter during the cold weather months.  The group’s three goals are to  weatherize homes, provide cold-weather shelter, and help meet heating expenses.  Donations can be made all year around to Jackson Neighbors in Need (or JNIN), in care of Mountain Projects, 25 Shulman Street, Sylva, NC.  Pictured are McConnell (left) and Sylva Rotary Club President, Kenny Nicholson.
