Another great meeting this week at the Greatest Rotary Club is the World. This was President Todd’s last meeting for his Rotary year as the incoming President Mike Wade and members of the Board were installed. President Todd has done amazing things this year and we appreciate his service to our Club and the community. What an amazing year!

Thanks to Jesse Norman, Head WCU Track & Field Coach, for coming to speak about the track program at Western Carolina University. Coach Norman spoke about the recruiting process, transitions from indoor to outdoor seasons, shared insight to life as a student athlete in the Track & Field Program, and spoke about his goal of continuing the success for one of the most historically successful programs in WCU history.#peopleofaction Rotary District 7670

2019-06-13: Tom Baker – “The Hawk and The Dove”

June 13th, 2019 by Scott Baker

Tom Baker

Another amazing meeting at the Greatest Rotary Club in the World. Local author Tom Baker came to discuss his novel “The Hawk and The Dove” which develops over six war-time periods: the Viking era, the Peninsula War, the U.S. Civil War, World War II, Rwanda, and Vietnam.

Tom gave a very powerful speech on his experiences as a US Army Combat veteran and explained how The Hawk and The Dove helps symbolize that good people are put in bad situations during war. This novel is a historical fiction with threads of magical realism and romance. Tom thank you for all you do for veterans.
